About LEAF:

Leaders in Environmentally Accountable Foodservice (LEAF) is Canada’s only nationwide, non-profit foodservice certification, education and advocacy program. Established in 2009, LEAF helps restaurants reduce their environmental impact and makes it easy for patrons to identify green restaurants. We work with all types of foodservice facilities including restaurants, cafes, food trucks, campuses and tourist locations.

Market Researcher Volunteer Position:

The Market Research Volunteer will work under the supervision of the Chair of Funding and Sponsorship to generate and maintain a sponsorship database. This position will entail conducting research to identify prospective sponsors, as well as other organizations in the environmental/not-for-profit sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Acquire contact and other relevant information about prospective sponsors who align with LEAF’s goals and mission

  • Regularly update and maintain grant and sponsorship database with potential corporate and/or private sponsors and funding opportunities

  • Conduct research on environmentally-focused or other similar organizations in the not-for-profit space

  • Contribute to the evaluation of LEAF assets

  • Provide support to the Chair of Funding and Sponsorship in building a sponsorship strategy, as well as the management and execution of related tasks

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be motivated and a self-starter with excellent attention to detail

  • Possess strong organizational and communication skills

  • Be passionate about sustainability in the foodservice industry

  • Experience with Excel or Google Sheets an asset

  • A background in Marketing or Business preferred, but not required

Position Terms:

The time commitment will average 10 hours per month, which includes fulfilling action items, correspondence with Chair of Funding and Sponsorship and Volunteer Coordinator and regular meetings. This position is without remuneration.

Work from anywhere in Canada.
